Final message

Dear Friends,

As you might know by now, although we fought a hard campaign, we lost yesterday the election for the Miami-Dade School Board in District 6. I simply didn't have the resources or the political machinery to win. I want to thank all the volunteers who spent many hours trying to get me elected. I will never forget your effort.

I am very proud to have decided six months ago to run for public office for the first time in my life. At 74 years of age, it was not an easy decision, but I felt it was important to have an educator with experience in the School Board. However, the voters have spoken.

I look forward to continue working with the National Association of Cuban-American Educator as well as supporting other worthy cultural and educational organizations. I hope to see in the near future at many of these cultural events.

    Un abrazo,

    --Eduardo

Election day...

Dear friends,
We are in the final stretch of my campaign for member of the Miami-Dade School Board, District 6. Last week was the beginning of the 2010 primary elections. So far the number of votes appears lower than in other primary elections. Thus, it is crucial that you not only vote but that you also urge your friends and relatives to vote.
Right now our volunteers have finished their work for the second day of the second week of early voting. If you haven't already voted absentee, you can still do early voting until Sunday, August 22. Two of the best places to vote are Miami City Hall in Coconut Grove and the Coral Gables Library from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Tuesday, August 24 is the all important election day. We need volunteers in the precincts we plan to cover on that day from 7 AM to 7 PM, in four-hour blocks.
If you are willing to volunteer on election day, please call or e-mail our coordinator Carlos Velázquez at 786-537-0247 or campaign@eduardozayasbazan.com to make arrangements.
In order to win this election we are countingon your support!
Un abrazo,
--Eduardo
